CER-627 – Niacin LF

header CER-627
CER-627 is a fixed-dose combination of niacin and aspirin, where the aspirin dose is delivered by sustained release several hours before the niacin is absorbed.

This dosing combination has an unexpectedly large ability to reduce flushing, and is supported by a portfolio of issued and pending patents.

In a proof of concept clinical study for the CER-627 program, a 39% flushing reduction compared to Niaspan®, the market leader, was observed (maximum severity of flushing reduction using a visual analogue scale). CER-627 is in Phase II clinical development, with a focus on formulation development.
